Special Edition: State of the Union in 2014
January 30, 2014
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
Following Tuesday’s State of the Union address, Capital Thinking host Kevin O’Neill will be joined by Vince Frillici, Stephen Diaz Gavin, Josh Greene, and Norma Krayem for their analysis of the President’s key agenda items and priorities as detailed in his fifth address to Congress and the nation. On the particular issue of immigration reform, Sam Mudrick will join Kevin to provide his insight on what we may expect in terms of any possible progress on the legislation. The President also called for support for early childhood education and increased educational opportunity in his speech. Jeff Livingston of McGraw-Hill Education will provide an analysis from an education perspective. Lastly, Karen Thiel will comment on the health care portion of the President’s address and how the Administration and the Congress are likely to act on some of the more controversial Affordable Care Act provisions.
