Episode Description

To listen or not, that is the question. There is some debate amongst purists and contemporaries alike regarding the use of music in the Yoga experience. One side saying authentic yoga is about stillness and sense mastery, ergo, no music; the other expounding the bliss of a rocking out class. In the middle is the beautiful grace of balance, where music or no matters not, and yet a good mix seems to take us deeper. Join us as we discuss the use of sound and music in deepening ones experience of bliss and joy, amidst the stillness and tranquility of a well-balanced asana practice. From pop to kirtan, trance or dance, someone has linked a practice to it. Modern studios have ultra sound systems and better than half the teachers at the Sedona Yoga Festival requested an iPod plugin for their workshops. On this show, we'll take a look at what's happening in the yoga music world with renowned and distinguished composer, East Forest, who has worked with many in the international yoga community.
