Affordable Care Act , Privacy for Students, Global IP Issues, National Youth Leadership Council
April 3, 2014
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
Capital Thinking welcomes Deborah Lodge as first-time guest host this Thursday. Deborah will open the show with Karen Thiel, who will provide the latest on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the ongoing enrollment process. Next, Mel Gates will focus on privacy issues that are pertinent to students, such as right to privacy and information privacy and security, as well as examine federal and state regulations that currently govern – and perhaps should be governing – these issues. In the following segment, Deborah will be joined by Dr. Scott Chambers, with whom she recently traveled to Doha, Qatar, where they presented on key intellectual property (IP) issues for and needs of clients in the region. The two will share highlights from their presentation and offer strategic advice on IP protection on a global level. Finally, Amy Meuers and Lesley Bowling Sachs will tell us how the National Youth Leadership Council is teaching youth today to serve, learn and change the world.
