Episode Description

Did you know most Fortune 500™ companies spend 70% of their operating budgets on human capital? Why? To remain competitive in our high-tech, fast-paced, global economy, companies must embrace the latest technological advancements and the use of big data. This requires attracting and retaining a highly educated, technically skilled workforce - the type of workforce that can use technology to produce business intelligence and drive innovation. However, there are challenges. First is the need for a longer-term investment strategy and a reevaluation of the short-term demands of capital markets. Second, many organizations are unable to fill these positions because they require someone with a post-secondary education. And third, the impact of investing in human capital is rarely tracked, measured, or analyzed. Join us as we explore the challenges that companies face and what steps they can take to build value and gain a competitive advantage by investing in their human capital.
