Episode Description

This week’s show features Gary J. Cooper, Ann Roth and Maggie Hermes, who are all Co-Founders of Guatemala 900. Guatemala 900 is a grass roots group of parents who advocates for the best interest of Guatemala’s children since the adoption shutdown in 2007. Our discussion today will be on the current status of the CHIFF petition and recent updates in Guatemala. The Guatemala 900 campaign was launched as a voice for the children of Guatemala and asks the governments of the United States and Guatemala to work together to ensure speedy due process. Their main effort is to call attention to the stagnation of the remaining children in Guatemala and demands that steps are made by the U.S. and Guatemalan governments to deliver timely due process and transparency.

We will examine international and domestic adoption, resources, costs, stories, highlight innovative agencies and bring the touching stories of families struggling and succeeding to the forefront. There is no greater community builder than Adoption! When we educate and encourage others to become involved, more people are inspired to adopt or be a part of a community of adoption. Our show aims to educate and inspire others to get involved in building a family be it on their own or helping someone close to them bring their family home together forever.
