SAGE – New Opportunities in Water – Net Neutrality
May 29, 2014
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
Returning afresh from the Memorial Day weekend, Capital Thinking and host Kevin O’Neill will first welcome Brandon Román and Aaron Tax from Services & Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders (SAGE) to talk about the unique challenges facing this subset of the aging community and the organization’s efforts to serve and improve the lives of the elderly. Next, in a two-part interview, we will discuss the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA). Tom Curtis from the American Water Works Association and Carolina Mederos will talk specifically about the Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Authority (WIFIA) provision contained in WRRDA and some perceived problems within the legislation. Then, Roddy Devlin with the Squire Sanders Public Finance and Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) teams will discuss project finance and P3 opportunities for the water sector.
