The population of the earth is projected to reach 11 Billion people by 2100. With the carrying capacity of the earth already exceeded, how can we create a sustainable world as the population continues to increase? What are the problems with the current systems on which we depend? Our food systems, transportation system, energy systems, education systems and political systems are in serious need of change. How can we transform these systems? What must really change so that we ensure our survival and also our prosperity? In this episode, Shane and guest Paul Hanley, author of the book "Eleven" talk about how our planet and attitudes must shift for our world to become sustainable.

Future Proof is Freedom. What kind of world do you want to live in?
Together we can change the world. We must start with ourselves. Then we can Future Proof our homes, businesses and communities.
Many people don’t realize it, but most of our biggest problems can be solved using current technology. I want to help you understand what you can do right now to make a difference.
My guests and I are going to simplify our technical expertise and break down what you can do in your home, business, workplace or community to save money, reduce your environmental impact and improve the health of yourself and people around you. Our guests work in various industries but all of them are here to help you Future Proof your home and our planet.
My name is Shane Wolffe and I work as a professional engineer with “Green Buildings” in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada, a city with one of the harshest climates that people live in. I am LEED accredited, trained by the Passive House institute, a Certified Energy Auditor and a certified Thermographer. I’ve worked as a consultant, a technician and as a manager for a start-up modular home building company. I've worked in pretty much every building type there is. I've seen a lot of issues but I've also seen a lot of solutions. I know that we can do much better, and if we do, we can build a much more sustainable world.
I’ve been fortunate to work with and learn from the best companies and minds involved with energy efficiency and green building. Unfortunately these companies often have difficulty gaining traction despite their value regarding the big picture. In other words, the green building industry has a marketing problem.
I firmly believe that this industry can reshape our economy and is necessary for the long term prosperity of humans and nature alike. The only way that this industry and movement is going to over-take the status quo is if regular folks understand how green building is of serious benefit to them, and they understand how to do it in an economical way. With this understanding I wrote my book and came up with the idea for my website. We will dive into this world so you can understand how you can help build a better one.
