Net Neutrality – Municipal Broadband
March 19, 2015
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
David Schnittger will cross the threshold from guest to host on this week’s Capital Thinking. Jack Nadler will first join David to discuss the recent Federal Communications Commissions (FCC)’s Network Neutrality Order. The Order has sweeping changes for internet service providers and users, and Jack will explain the most significant updates and their implications. In the continuing debate over municipal broadband, the FCC just issue an order preempting state laws that would limit the geographic area for municipal broadband service. Paul Besozzi will join David to provide his outlook on how this issue will continue to evolve and the possible impacts. By popular demand, for the remainder of the show, we will re-air our previous segments on banking changes related to the shift in US-Cuba policy; and updates on generic top-level domain (gTLD).
