Episode Description

Today's youth are becoming more and more distracted, disengaged, and disconnected from the generations that paved the way and paid the price for the freedoms and opportunities that they have today. The civil rights struggle, Dr. King's Dream, and the heroes that preceded them are largely unknown to these young teens and pre-teens growing up in the land of the free. When the civil rights icons pass on who will carry the torch? This week we will have civil rights leader and national peace activist Reverend Markel Hutchins on our show to discuss the current state of affairs in our nation as it relates to generational poverty, mass incarceration, and the threats to both inner city and suburban youth. Don't miss this episode of the Power of Peace Radio with Kit Cummings and Rev. Hutchins-- the children are our future.
