1.First half hour is an interview with Hardeep Walia,CEO and cofounder of Motif Investing. A motif is an innovative online brokerage product representing an intelligently weighted basket of 30 stocks, which share an industry sector or investment philosophy. Unlke mutual funds and ETFs, the motif owner owns the underlying stock, providing the flexibility to change the way the motif is weighted should circumstances change. Some 85,000 retail motifs are held by 200,000 “motifers” and more are held by institutions for wealthy clients. The cost of one motif is $9.95 2.Linda Goldberg, president of CarQ, is the nation's largest car buyers agent. Clients, who remain anonymous, pay her to research dealer costs and retail pricing, then negotiate with dealers for the best price. The company's fees range from consultation costs of $200 to $2,200, depending on the service provided and whether the car is new or used.
