Episode Description

What childhood memories does Christmas conjure for you? Is it making cookies with Grandma, singing Christmas carols with neighbors, or fighting with your sibling over who gets to open the first present? Just a few days before Christmas, let’s celebrate some of the magic of the season together. We’ll revisit childhood memories, embrace family Christmas traditions, and of course listen in as children’s book author Brandi Dougherty reads from some of her most celebrated works. Brandi will also share how and why she became a children’s book author and what she hopes her books will inspire in her readers. Along the way, both of us share fond memories from the holidays and our connection to family. Intended to be holiday- and family-affirming, this episode has something for everyone and will inspire you to reminisce about your own favorite holiday stories.

Working on Purpose

Working on Purpose

Wednesday at 3 PM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Empowerment Channel

WORK. For some, its utter lack of perceived significance hurls them into existential crisis, while for others being on the job allows the highest level of fulfillment and even provides a life purpose. We spend a full third of our lives either preparing for work via school or actually being in the workforce. Why not look for ways to maximize the meaning, positive sentiment, and performance contribution associated with it? This show explores the journey and experiences of how various people navigate their careers toward meaningful work-life integration. Anyone looking for guidance, inspiration, and examples on how to get unstuck at work or move to a higher level of meaning or contribution will enjoy tuning in. We’ll hear from everyday people telling their work-life stories and from other authors who have contributed their understanding to the topic of work, careers, and work-life integration. Working on Purpose airs live Wednesdays at 3 PM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Empowerment.
