The problems facing investors are clear enough: The 2015 "bull market" ended the year with the S&P 500 in negative territory. The Federal Reserve's quarter point rate hike reassured those who saw it as confirming economic improvement, but others saw it as threatening bond prices, and still others worried how much further rates would have to rise to restore the Fed's power to control monetary policy.
