Episode Description

Emotions are painful, but they demand to be felt. Over time we have learn to avoid the uncomfortable emotions of anxiety, sadness, worry, shame, or guilt and seek the pleasure of ones like happiness, joy and bliss. Whether it is due to our upbringing, fear, or that showing emotions is seen as a weakness, our avoidance of these "negative" emotions has lead to our inability to process and release them. Join host Alexandra Janelli and Dr. Nadya Friedman as they discuss powerful tools to help listeners tolerate emotions with a deeper appreciation, speed, and understanding. Learn how each emotion we feel is trying to do something FOR US not always TO US. By learning a new process of emotional tolerance one can experience life in a more fulfilling and passionate way. Dr. Friedman and Alexandra bring together a multidimensional approach of both cognitive behavioral change and subconscious shifts through their medical, analytical and hypnotherapy trainings.

John R Gambling

Rambling with Gambling was a news and talk radio program that aired from 1925 through 2013, almost uninterrupted, with one name change toward the end of its run. It was hosted by three generations of people named John Gambling throughout its entire 88+ year run.
The program was on WOR (AM), except for a 9-year switch to WABC (AM) from 2000 to 2008, when it was renamed The John Gambling Show. On its return to WOR in 2008, it kept the newer name.
John B. Gambling started the show in March 1925. His son, John A. Gambling became host in 1959. He brought his son, John R. Gambling, to the show as co-host from 1985 until his retirement in 1991. John R. Gambling has been solo host since that time.
At the time, it was the longest continually-running radio broadcast in America, a position now held by the Grand Ole Opry. After a brief hiatus, WABC hired Gambling. WOR owned the rights to the name Rambling with Gambling, so the revived show was renamed The John Gambling Show. View Guest page

Nate Martinez

I've spent the past 20 years performing, recording and producing music, most of it professionally. Over the past five years my pursuit has broadened and I began seeking out how music and, more importantly, how sound can dramatically shift our perspective, raise our consciousness, and heal us. After all, sound precedes music—pure frequency becomes music through intention, the same way that consciousness becomes reality through the intention and expression of words and actions.
In 2011 I began to study shamanism and intuitive healing which eventually led me to a Sound Therapy certification program at the Open Center where I learned how to incorporate all my life experiences: of being a musician, working through my own personal challenges and my exploration of shamanism, combined with the long history of cultures around the world using sound to invoke healing and expand consciousness. Tina Zaremba

I grew up in a family that lived to tell stories. From my dad gathering my sister and I around to hear his made-up-as-you-went fairytales, to my aunt repeatedly describing how we’re descended from Alexander The Great, to my grandfather (ruefully) reliving his experience playing on the Bulgarian soccer team in the 1936 Olympics: “We lost so bad we had to travel incognito for fear the townspeople would pelt us with tomatoes!”
With storytelling pretty much engrained in my DNA, I guess it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I fell into a profession that revolves around telling stories-a.k.a. professional talker, a.k.a….voice over performer.
Some people ask, “How is doing voice over spots for Huggies, Maxwell House or Listerine being a storyteller?” Easy! It’s not about diapers, coffee or mouthwash-it’s about mommies and babies, a cup of warmth and comfort, and feeling confident when you lean in for that kiss. What I do is express an experience through my voice. View Guest page
