Dr. Derenda Schubert, Executive Director at Bridge Meadows, is on the leading edge of an emerging national conversation around intergenerational living. Bridge Meadows successfully brings together families raising foster children with older people of modest means. Elders receive reduced rents in return for volunteer work with the adoptive families living in the community: everything from babysitting and playing catch with children to working on arts-and-crafts projects and making meals. This model of building communities brings individuals together to form a healthy and life-giving community that will pay dividends in the lives of all who live there. Through her innovative leadership of Bridge Meadows, Schubert has challenged the status quo and traditional ways of “doing business” by integrating child welfare, foster care, and elder services, rather than addressing these needs separately.

Dr. Sheryl White, a cultural psychologist, brings over 20 years of experience providing leadership, workforce, and organization development consulting, training, and coaching services to municipalities, nonprofits, educational institutions, and for-profit corporations worldwide. Dr. White, the Vice President of Training and Organization Development at Neighborhood House Association (NHA) in San Diego, CA and is also the founder of NHA’s social enterprise, InnoVisions, which provides professional, leadership, and organization development services to other organizations. Since 1999, Dr. White has served as an executive coach and facilitator with the Center for Creative Leadership. Dr. White is passionate about helping people work better, and better together.
Undraye Howard is vice president of the Center on Leadership at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. He also is an adjunct professor at several universities, where he teaches courses on youth, work development, leadership, communication practices and processes, and effectiveness in the human services world. Howard holds master’s in communication with an emphasis in training and development from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree.
