Episode Description

Since the age of three, when his parents bought him his first piano, musical theater lyricist, composer, and director Michael Sottile was drawn to making emotions and uncomfortable issues more identifiable and accessible through melody. With an intimate understanding and empathy born of his personal experiences, Michael’s work reaches into the universal themes of suffering, self-discovery, growth, spirituality, and ultimately, transformation. In discussing three key stages of his life story, he’ll provide guidance on living with obstacles, figuring out how to overcome them, and making choices such that the clarity you gain and the belief you nurture will bring you to a better place. We’ll touch on topics like bullying, death and mental illness, lifted by what Michael has learned about the forgiveness and healing that creative self-expression, spiritual practice and relationships can generate.
