This month is the 2nd anniversary of the "On the Right Road!" radio show and this year is the 25th anniversary of Right Road Kids! This special episode will be an extraordinary celebration for teachers and schools, and will introduce the amazing Right Road SHINE theme for 2017! With positivity and inspiration overflowing every second, a special guest who will help Paula ring in the New Year in a mighty way, and giveaways and surprises galore for teachers, the goodness of this special hour will be off the charts! Paula Phillips is the Founder and President of Right Road Kids, a 24-year nonprofit organization with a national and global mission and vision. After establishing a successful career in TV, corporate, and commercial production, Paula moved to Los Angeles and was threatened by a young teen during the 1992 LA Riots. She immediately dedicated her life to helping kids find and travel their Right Roads in school and in life, and has since shared Right Road programs with over 200,000 children in schools, churches, and youth organizations around the country. Paula is also the founder of Right Road Productions and has produced all the creative resources for Right Road’s vital and impactful work with and for kids including the RIGHT ROAD FOR KIDS DVD series, her THE BELLOWS BUNCH children’s book series, and multitudes of uplifting songs she has written and recorded including 1992’s I HAVE A DREAM that aired on radio stations across the U.S. as a beacon of hope after the Riots. And, since January 2015, she has been the host of the wildly popular ON THE RIGHT ROAD radio show, uplifting, inspiring, and providing encouragement and real support for kids, parents, teachers, and schools in all 50 states and around the globe! With a life’s calling for making a difference, Paula has received numerous humanitarian and ingenuity awards as well as Congressional Recognition for service to youth. Known as the "Velvet Hammer" for her compassionate yet uncompromising approach, Mo Anderson's business, leadership, and teaching skills are uniquely matched by her spirit and faith. She is the heart of Keller Williams Realty, and her integrity and unending drive are touchstones that have made KW one of the most successful franchises in real estate history. With encouragement from her husband, Mo got into real estate after 14 years as a wonderfully successful music teacher. She established her first real estate office in 1975, became KW's President and CEO in 1995, and is now Vice Chairman of the Board. In her current role, she has come full-circle and is back in the classroom teaching training events nationwide. Mo's mission is to help people experience the higher purpose of business and life - caring, sharing, and giving. Jim Bates grew up skateboarding in Southern California, and in 2002, he became a pro skateboarder. He has since combined his love of skateboarding with his heart for helping kids believe in themselves and reach for their dreams by writing his first children's book, "The Boy Who Skated With Dragons". Mom to four amazing kids, the youngest if whom is now in high school, Dianne Beck is also an extraordinary educator. She has taught both elementary and middle school grades for 27 years, and has now settled into teaching her passion - middle school literature and writing. Dianne's calm but fun and always positive, encouraging demeanor truly helps bring out the best in each student, and her selfless, compassionate heart endures her to everyone she meets. Nationally recognized science teacher and teacher trainer Care Butler is a 29-year Workshop Facilitator for the AIMS Center for Math & Science. She also develops curriculum for the U.S. National Park Service, and is a Certified Master Naturalist. Karen Falato has lived in all four corners of the United States and in between, and is now "planted" in Pennsylvania. She has three children, one grandson, and a husband she adores. She has taught 2nd grade through high school, both regular ed and special education classes. Karen recently went back to school for her second Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, and she is indeed an amazing teamwork leader! She is currently teaching upper elementary special education, and she is dedicated to reaching out, helping, and making a difference for other teachers and their students and classrooms across the country! With a background in both advertising and marketing, Bil joined Dole in 2007 as the Communications Manager for the fresh fruit division, overseeing public relations, marketing, and industry/government relations. Shortly after, he also began handling communication for fresh vegetables and berries, gaining an overall sense of the entire Dole portfolio of healthy products. In 2013, he added the responsibilities of Dole's overall corporate communications to look at business globally - including the company's cause and nonprofit support efforts, sustainability, philanthropic partnerships, and corporate responsibility. When she was just in 4th grade, Isabella Griffin started a very special 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Be A Buddy Not A Bully. Isabella was motivated to make a difference to spread kindness in a big way when she was bullied in 3rd grade and then also saw kids at her school bully an autistic child. Isabella is now a young teen who, through her heart, positive actions, and amazing nonprofit is making a difference to prevent bullying in more and more school across the country. She has been featured in the popular Scholastic News, has received several awards (including the Huggable Heroes Finalist Award, the Gee Whiz Kids Award, and the Peace First Award), and she was recently part of the Auburn University Anti-Bullying Summit. Dan Gutman is a New York Times best-selling children's author who has written over 100 books including The Kid Who Ran for President, the Flashback Four series, the My Weird School series, the Baseball Card Adventure series, and The Genius Files series. Vicki Kaczynski is a true inspiration! Before she and her family moved to Southern California six years ago, she was a remarkable high school guidance counselor at two schools in Connecticut. Vicki is a wife and mother of two wonderful sons, and after dedicating her time and energy to her sons and family over the last several years, she was recently contacted by one of her former students who shared what a life-changing impact she had on his education and his life. Jenn LaVardera is the Nutrition and Health Communications Manager for Dole Food Company and the Dole Nutrition Institute. Jenn communicates the latest research on healthful eating, translating the science of it all into fun, actionable advice for kids, parents, teachers, and everyone! Victoria Prooday is a Registered Occupational Therapist with extensive experience working with kids. She is the Founder and Director of a multidisciplinary clinic for children with behavioral, attention, social, emotional and academic challenges. Through her important work, Victoria also helps parents and teachers recognize the impact the modern world of technology and overabundance has on kids' development. Since Pernille Ripp was a child growing up in Denmark, she knew she wanted to work with and inspire kids. She began her journey in education as a math resource teacher, then transitioned into the classroom as a 4th and 5th grade teacher, and has now found her home as a 7th grade English teacher in Wisconsin. Pernille is also a speaker, author, blogger, mom, and passionate advocate for education. She's an award-winning expert in literacy and technology integration, and dedicates her life efforts to uplifting engaged and empowered students. Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis is the founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit Classes 4 Classes, the author of Choosing Hope: How I Moved Forward from Life's Darkest Hour, and an inspirational speaker for teachers, students, and organizations across the country. Jana Saffro is an "On the Right Road!" veteran! She is one of Paula's go-to co-host guests when we do our special Right Road "Q&A" shows. Jana has a Masters in Education and just finished her 20th year teaching. A seasoned elementary and middle school educator, Jana currently teaches 3rd grade. She is a science specialist, has developed a terrific character education program, is a Right Road Kids Board Member, an animal lover and advocate, and she is absolutely passionate about learning and education. Through her wonderful nonprofit, Meagan has given away over 19,000 books to kids in need. Professor, entrepreneur, communication/marketing expert, and author Debbie Wideroe is a remarkable woman. She has a degree in Child Development, a Masters from Harvard, and a passion for child development, children's media, environmental issues, and education. Most recently, she has authored "The Adventures of Camellia N." book series. She has also been a Visiting Professor of Communication at Pepperdine University for over 17 years, and has received numerous professional and academic awards including the prestigious Charles H. Dlorah Wismar is an amazing educator in her 6th year of teaching. Previously, she worked for 20 years at a global business consulting company where she enjoyed the work, but was struggling to feel fulfilled in the midst of never-ending conference calls and meetings. She yearned for a career where she could make a real, positive impact. Dlorah is also mom to a college sophomore, and after being inspired by her son's then 7th grade history teacher who was a lawyer and made a career change later in life, she knew what her calling was... to teach!
