Episode Description

Many managers are taught not to get too close to your employees. Managers are expected to be friendly with their employees, but they also “know where to draw the line.” However, by not getting close to your employees you could be diminishing your ability to motivate and retain your top performers. In this week’s episode we will be interviewing Kesha Harris, an associate at Talent Plus, as she tells us about her manager and the relationship they have with one another as we explore the importance of building relationships with your people. It is our belief that when you have close, positive relationships with your people, they will do things for you, not because there is some reward for them, but simply because they care about you…and because they know you care about them. Furthermore, your proactive efforts to strengthen the relationships with the people you manage will increase motivation, engagement and loyalty.
