Substance Abuse -- That's not King Kong Threatening the Empire State Building.
March 28, 2017
Hosted by Dr. Sarah M. Young (DrRed)
Drugs are the leading cause of death in America. Nearly 21 million Americans aged 12 and up had an addiction problem in 2015. Among those with a substance abuse disorder, about 15.7 million have a substance abuse disorder related to alcohol. We all know one of the favorite treatments for PTSD has been medication and with that the opportunity for abuse. Add the option to self-medicate with alcohol, and you have a recipe for disaster. Join DrRed and Kim Myers for a discussion of substance abuse management. These co-morbidites could kill faster than a heart attack. Are we talking AA and NA or are there other methods now? Can drug addiction and/or alcoholism be cured? Is there such a thing as a genetic factor? This lady's seen it all! She treated her fellow sailors in the USN, then was Substance Abuse Department Chair/Instructor of a local holistic college. If PTSD and Substance Abuse are Kong on the Empire State Building, listen in see how the movie should end.

This show is about taking charge of your mental, physical and spiritual health. It showcases cutting edge healing modalities that may be called new age, but may have been in existence for centuries. Nevertheless, these methods work when all others fail. Add a little laughter, and you have a perfect recipe for healing.
For more than 3 decades, Dr Red has brought allopathic and alternative/complementary healing experts, such as Marianne Williamson, Dr. Rick Jelusich and Richard Bandler, center stage to share their knowledge of various healing techniques with the world.
DrRed's been there, done that, got the T-shirt, and she'll show you how to do it too. Tune in to DrRed Says, broadcasting live every Tuesday at 1 PM Pacific Time on the VoiceAmerica Empowerment Channel.

She is founder of The So Brave Foundation for veterans, to which the show is dedicated.
DrRed is on a mission to share all the healing modalities that helped her get back on her feet and full of life again. If she can do it, you can do it, and have fun while you're at it. For one hour, rest your body, open your mind and get in the spirit. A session with DrRed is an adventure.
Now recovered from what was deemed terminal cancer, Dr Red is here to encourage you to be healed, healthy and whole, while learning to laugh and love life again.
