Ruth Douthitt

R. A. DOUTHITT’S life took a turn for the better when she returned to college in her late thirties to complete a B.A. in Visual Art from ASU, as well as a Masters in Education from University of Phoenix. After teaching college part time, she decided it was time to complete her first book after working on it for almost 20 years. Her son grew up reading C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien, who served as her inspiration for her own bildungsroman-type, fantasy adventure book designed to inspire boys everywhere to go out and make their own adventures happen. Now working in curriculum development as well as teaching teenage girls in church youth ministry, Ruth desires to write both nonfiction as well as fiction for teens based on youth issues today. Ruth lives in Arizona with her husband, Scott, and their son, Nathan, who still inspires her to keep on writing, no matter what. Her novel, The Dragon Forest is the first in a three-part fantasy adventure series about how young Prince Peter experiences the adventure of a lifetime and how he finally learns what it means to be King. The interaction between Peter, his father, and the Dragon forms the essence of this action-adventure trilogy. www.thedragonforest.blogspot.com
