Barbara Shorter received her Doctorate from Columbia University. She is an Associate Professor of Nutrition at Long Island University, Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics and a Registered Dietitian. She is also on the faculty of Smith Institute for Urology. She authored “Effects of Comestibles on the Symptoms of IC/PBS” - Journal of Urology 2007, and researched the effects of edibles on the symptoms of Chronic Prostatitis. Dr.Shorter was peer reviewer 2011 AUA Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of IC/BPS. Barbara is a member of the Medical Advisory Board for the Interstitial Cystitis Association.
