Jayne O’Donnell is a consumer reporter for USA TODAY, author, TV contributor and freelance writer. At USA TODAY, Jayne’s beat includes retail, safety and fraud. Her investigative reporting in 1996 led to the warning labels and smart air bags now found in every new car. More recently, her work has included subjects as diverse as high-tech safety features in cars, crib bumpers and table saw safety. In September, she wrote a two-part investigative series on cosmetic surgery. The series explored the risks of office-based surgeries by doctors who aren’t board-certified plastic surgeons and the dangers associated with low-cost, high volume clinics. Jayne has contributed to magazines including Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day, Parents and AutoWeek. She is a frequent guest on television news programs and has appeared on Good Morning America, Fox Business Network, CNN and MSNBC.
