Dan Hinds

Coach Dan Hinds- Hinds guided Desert Vista to its first state championship since 1998, two seasons after the program hit rock bottom in a 2-8 year. Desert Vista captured the Division I title in dominating fashion, ending Chandler Hamilton's 53-game winning streak with a 45-19 victory. Hamilton had won the previous three state championships. The victory also avenged Desert Vista's only loss during the regular season. Desert Vista finished 13-1, its best record since a 14-0 championship season in 1998. This was Hinds' 10th season leading the program. He played receiver and defensive back on Tempe McClintock's 1980 state-championship team.
