Dr. McCoy has a long career & background in psychotherapy, law enforcement, pre-employment assessment, higher education administration, behavior modification and instruction. Dr. McCoy was a South Carolina State Constable and later a Cold Case Volunteer for the Richland County Sheriff’s Dept. Dr. McCoy was contracted by the State of South Carolina to create a Master Instructor Program using Problem Based Learning practices – only the third such Master Instructor Program for Law Enforcement in the nation. Dr. Dorothy McCoy is a member of the Society of Police & Criminal Psychology and she holds a NOVA Certification and is a National Certified Counselor, a Diplomat with the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, Sub-Committee Member on Women in Police Leadership for Police Futurists and a Licensed professional Counselor (SC). Dr. McCoy is the published author of The Manipulative Man and other works. She consults as an expert for newspapers, radio, magazines, and TV.
