Jessica Brookshire

Jessica Brookshire is a 2011 graduate of Auburn University with a Masters of Hispanic Studies and concentrations in Latin American History and Women's Studies. She is a 2009 honors graduate from Auburn University with a Bachelors Degree in International Trade and Spanish and a minor in Political Science. While at Auburn, Jessica was active in her sorority as well as various campus clubs and organizations and multiple academic honor societies. Jessica served as a Senator on the Graduate Student Council during her second year of graduate school. Jessica became involved in the Miss America Organization, competing in the Miss Alabama pageant as Miss Auburn/Opelika Area 2009, Miss Fountain City 2010 and most recently Miss Tombigbee 2011. K.A.R.M.A. was Jessica's chosen platform community service project during her involvement in Miss Alabama. Her work with K.A.R.M.A. has been widely recognized. Jessica won the coveted Catherine Crosby Community Service Award at both the 2010 and the 2011 Miss Alabama Pageants. She was also awarded the Miss America Community Service Award 2011, and previously the 2010 Miracle Maker Award for her fundraising supporting the Children's Miracle Network. Jessica and K.A.R.M.A have appeared at schools across Alabama and Georgia, speaking to over 106,000 children in just two years. Jessica has interviewed on local media stations all over Alabama, and K.A.R.M.A. received national attention as Jessica appeared on Foxnews' The Mike Huckabee Show in New York City as a guest. Jessica is a ranked expert panelist on CNN's HLN Prime News where she has been a guest several times. www.thekarma.org
