Matjaž Čadež
He began his career in 1969 as a young researcher at the Jozef Stefan Institute. In 1971 he joined Intertrade-IBM Yugoslavia, where he was soon appointed head systems engineer for the Office of National Bookkeeping (covering the entire payment system in Yugoslavia). In 1989 he moved to Stockholm, where he was employed by AU System as project manager for managing complex international communication projects for Denmark, France, Austria, Singapore and Germany He has been involved in the development and management of payment systems and other complex systems at home and abroad since 1972. As a PHARE program consultant, he played an active part in managing the payment system reform project in Slovenia in the second half of 1990s. He is presently President of the board at Halcom, which he established already in 1992. Based on his extensive experience, he has the leading role in designing and developing Halcom products. Halcom received numerous awards: 2003 - the Golden Gazelle award as the most successful fast growing company, 2006 The Best Entrepreneurial Idea Award with the Hal M-Payments solution in the category of established companies, 2007 - the Golden Thread Award as the best employer in the category of medium-sized enterprises, 2007 - the A1 "Rating of the Year" award for companies with highest credit rating (Dun&Bradstreet), 2011 - the Pursuit of the Prime Award from Adizes Institute. Today Halcom is the leading supplier of electronic banking and payment system solutions in the region.
