Steve Miller
Steve Miller has been working on behalf of people with developmental disabilities since 1977. He led some of California's earliest initiatives in Supported Living and helped develop employment support programs helping people with intellectual disabilities succeed in community employment. This work led to the adoption of the term "Supported Employment” and to the creation of publicly funded services we know as "Job Coaching". In the 1980's Steve served as the Executive Director of Area Board 9, the State and Federally funded advocacy organization responsible for planning and coordination of all publicly funded services that touch the lives of people with developmental disabilities of all ages. Since 1990 Steve has led Tierra del Sol, an organization widely recognized for their innovative approaches to helping people lead full and meaningful lives.
