Doug Solomon
Doug Solomon is an IDEO Fellow and innovation consultant. For the past five years, Doug was Chief Technology Officer at IDEO, working to leverage technologies that create both business and social value. With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Doug has a particular interest in collaborative technologies that enable greater community engagement and transform organizations. He currently focuses on health and wellness, technology, innovation and business development. Prior to joining IDEO, he was vice president of investments at Omidyar Network, where he helped pioneer a new approach to socially impactful investing. He was also senior vice president of corporate development and chief strategy officer at both Apple and Palm, and he held leadership positions at a Paul Allen-owned technology incubator, and several start-ups. He began his career working on public health programs in Asia, applying business principles for social change. Doug is a volunteer chaplain at Stanford Hospital and advises many social impact organizations. He holds a master’s degree from the East-West Center at the University of Hawaii and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
