John “Jay” Rogers
John “Jay” Rogers is President, CEO and Co-Founder of Local Motors, a next-generation American car company that is changing the way cars are designed, built, purchased and owned. Local Motors is home to the first global community dedicated to co-creative automotive innovation, and manufacturer of the Rally Fighter, the first co-created, open source vehicle. The company’s innovative development process has garnered global attention from government and industry leaders including DARPA, BMW, Peterbilt, Shell and Domino’s Pizza, as well as global media outlets like Fox, CNNB, CNN, Wired, Top Gear, Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal. Jay grew up a lover of cars and a student of the industry; his grandfather owned the legendary Indian Motorcycle Company and was the first Cummins Engine Distributor in the United States. Rogers is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School, and veteran of US Marine Corps.
