Maimah Karmo

Maimah Karmo is Founder and CEO of the Tigerlily Foundation and a six-year survivor of breast cancer. On February 28, 2006, Maimah was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer at the age of 32. While undergoing chemotherapy, she made a promise to God; if she survived, she would create an organization that would educate, empower, advocate for and support young women affected by breast cancer. Tigerlily Foundation was born and Maimah has dedicated her life to helping young women around the world. She has received many awards including the L’Oreal Paris’ Woman of Worth, Congressional Black Caucus Leadership in Advocacy Award and was appointed to the Federal Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer in Young Women. In 2012, Maimah authored, Fearless: Awakening to My Life's Purpose Through Breast Cancer. Most dear to her heart is being the mother of her beautiful 9-year old girl. www.tigerlilyfoundation.org
