Greg Girard, Program Director, IDC Retail Insights Merchandising, Marketing, and Retail Analytics Strategies, leads IDC’s Global Omnichannel Retail Analytics Advisory Service. His research helps retailers find opportunities to improve their ability to make decisions with current, accurate, comprehensives, and trusted analytics. He explores opportunities to improve customer engagement with better analytics in merchandising, marketing, fulfillment, and commerce. Since great analytics are useful only if applied well, Greg focuses on people and processes as well. He has been involved in retail technology for 20 years as an analyst, retail technology executive, and co-founder of a social media collective intelligence start-up. Early in his career, he was a road-warrior management consultant. He earned an undergraduate degree in philosophy at Boston College and a graduate degree in urban planning at the City University of New York. Greg also pursued a graduate degree in philosophy.
