Ken Norton
Ken Norton is the Executive Director of NAMI NH, the National Alliance On Mental Illness where he led the development of the CONNECT Suicide Prevention Program. CONNECT is designated as a National Best Practice and has been lauded for its work with the military in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee and the House Veterans Affairs Committee. Ken serves on the Steering Committee of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and on the National Action Alliance For Suicide Prevention Military and Veterans Task Force. He has presented nationally and internationally and has also provided numerous trainings, briefings and served on committees for the Department of Defense and Defense Centers on Excellence. Ken worked extensively in community mental health, and as a mental health advocate. He has served as a foster parent and has experience with mental illness from the family perspective and is an active volunteer in his community. A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, with over 30 years of experience, the NH Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers named Ken their “Social Worker of the Year” in 2009. Ken enjoys spending time with his family and being in the great outdoors.
