George SanFacon
While working as an administrator at the University of Michigan, George SanFacon pioneered and implemented a participatory approach to management and governance—the Council of Equals—that was nationally recognized for its innovation and effectiveness. He has written a manuscript titled The Council of Equals which will be published soon. George is also the author of A Conscious Person’s Guide to the Workplace, and co-author of the essay, Holistic Servant-Leadership (available free online at www.spearscenter.org). George lives and works as a part-time caretaker and host at Sunnyside, a private retreat center in southern Michigan. He also devotes time to environmental stewardship of the surrounding lakes and woodlands, and to promoting Servant-Leadership, a philosophy and movement dedicated to creating a world that works for all.
