Simone’s professional career began on the advertising side of the business working for The New York Times Company, then followed by a brief stint in the beverage industry. Shortly thereafter, Simone launched HUMANFITPROJECT.com in it’s infancy as a blog, then opted to take on an Assistant Editor role with American Media, Inc.’s MensFitness.com. Simone’s responsibilities on the 3-man team ranged from content and social media strategy to editorial-marketing franchise fulfillment while also assisting with the day-to-day operations. Simone’s career in fitness began much earlier in life, at the age of 15. As someone who always gravitated towards sports and adventure, he knew his frame subjected him to disadvantages and self-doubt. His underweight stature also exposed him to varying degrees of detrimental hazing and bullying. After being told he was not a powerful enough hitter, hard enough thrower, ballsy enough surfer, and that his physique would never change, Mike turned to his own father to learn the real-life fundamentals of weight training, eating, discipline and humility. This fatherly kick start was the catalyst that lead to the hours upon hours and years upon years of reading, researching and practical application of training and dieting strategies. Mike has now been on his journey of becoming a renowned fitness expert for over 10 years. Moving forward, Mike is focused on inspiring more fitness enthusiasts, novice, experts and everything in between through the work highlighted on HUMANFITPROJECT.com. Further to, Mike will be developing a series of unconventional workout videos, fitness modeling campaigns and exploring the realm of fitness exhibitions.
