Larissa Sutherland

Larissa Sutherland serves as the education & outreach coordinator for Samaritan House, a domestic violence resource center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is dedicated to the pursuit of social equality and to education programs focused on healthy relationships, gender parity, and the prevention of interpersonal violence. Larissa provides free trainings and workshops to various groups including students from middle school through college, allied professionals, military personnel, physicians, faith-based groups, and civic agencies among others. Educational trainings are focused on intimate partner violence prevention and include topics such as Dynamics of Domestic Violence; Dating Violence and Stalking Awareness to name a few. She represents Samaritan House on regional domestic violence taskforces, participates in legislative advocacy initiatives, facilitates the Virginia Beach Coordinated Community Response Team and will co-chair the city’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team.
