D. Anthony Evans
D. Anthony Evans outward appearance does not suggest that he suffered from an aggressive cancer. At age 6, D was diagnosed with neurofibromatosis, a rare inherited condition where tumors grow on nerve tissue. He's had 9 major surgeries to date. Evans said, “I’m a true believer and proponent of fitness and nutrition because my immune system was a big part of me surviving.” D serves as an inspirational speaker, cancer survivor and awareness advocate, an author, a strength coach, and at-risk youth mentor.
