Christy Cote
Christy Cote is based in San Francisco and has been teaching dance for more than 35 years, specializing in Argentine Tango for the past 18. She is one of the most respected teachers and choreographers of Argentine Tango in the U.S. today. Christy’s teaching method has been published in the Argentine Tango Manuals by Dance Vision which are complimented by a series of 24 instructional DVDs. Christy is one of the founding members & choreographers of the all female tango company, Tango Con*Fusion, with whom she has performed across the U.S., Buenos Aires & Montevideo. Christy is passionate about Argentine Tango and has seen this dance touch the lives of many people in profound ways. Having been diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1995, shortly after taking up Argentine Tango, she found it to be an essential part of her recovery and the “silver lining” that led her to a full time career as an Argentine Tango dancer and instructor.
