Susan Weitzman, PhD

Susan Weitzman, PhD, authored the ground breaking book, Not to People like Us: Hidden Abuse in Upscale Marriages, which identifies the unique tactics and characteristics of domestic abuse in upscale marriages. She was featured on Oprah, 20/20, NPR and The Chicago Tribune when her book launched and recently in The Daily Beast and on First Business responding to the recent NFL scandal. Dr. Weitzman is now working on book #2 exploring new ways to counter the use of the courts by the abuser to harass the partner. She is also: heading an Inter-Faith Initiative in suburban Illinois to increase awareness of upscale violence; developing programs for corporations on how to deal with domestic violence; and working on a documentary on upscale violence. A psychotherapist, litigation consultant and national lecturer with more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Weitzman is recognized internationally as an expert witness on upscale domestic violence and its impact.
