Dr. Andrew Pumerantz



Dr. Andrew Pumerantz is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine; Chief of Infectious Disease; and Assistant Provost for Strategic Initiatives at Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA. He founded and heads the Western Diabetes Institute, an integrated practice unit whose mission is to deliver high-value, person-centered and cross-disciplinary, team-based care.

WDI provides "one-stop" comprehensive evaluations drawing from its various specialty units. WDI pilots novel care delivery with PCPs and health plans. Dr. Pumerantz holds an AB from Occidental College and a DO from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He trained in internal medicine and served as Chief Resident at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, and then completed infectious diseases fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. He maintains American Board of Internal Medicine certification in internal medicine and infectious disease, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
