Debbie Danbrook, is a Master of the Shakuhachi - an ancient Japanese flute that was traditionally played only by monks as a type of Zen practice called (‘Suizen' or) blowing Zen. Debbie is the first woman to have mastered this difficult instrument.

Debbie has released 20 CD's of healing music and plays at events and workshops throughout North America, Europe, Africa and Japan. She was invited to play at the Genocide Memorial in Rwanda, at EXPO in Japan, for the Japanese Prince and Princess at the opening of the Zen garden in Ottawa and also travelled to Japan 10 days after the tsunami to start her fundraising campaign for Japan. She is on the Board of Directors for a palliative association, Music Can Heal and also has a Japan Cultural Foundation Association to help keep the bonds of love strong between Japan and Canada.
