Melissa Frederick
My name is Melissa Frederick and I am a second year historical archaeology graduate student at Illinois State University. I grew up in California and moved to Tennessee when I was a junior in high school. I completed my undergraduate degree in Anthropology at American University in Washington, DC. I then worked two years at the Illinois State Archaeological Survey as a technician, crew chief, and historic materials analyst before I applied to graduate programs. My areas of interest include the history and archaeology of the Cherokee Nation, slavery, and Spanish and British colonization in North America.
