Lisa Drew

Lisa is co-anchor and Morning Managing Editor of the 570 Morning News. The show started back in November of 2005 but Lisa has been a part of the local morning airwaves for many years. Lisa was a regular on the George and Tara show, as the station’s first full-time traffic reporter. You can still hear her news updates on our sister station CHYM 96.7.

She has anchored mid-day news on 570 CKGL and spent years as a reporter hitting the streets to cover police investigations, the courts, and council meetings. Lisa is proud to share a 2007 Edward R. Murrow award for Best Newscast with the incredible team at 570.

Lisa has also been honoured by the OPP and the RTNDA (now RTDNA) for her “Behind Closed Doors” series on domestic violence. She has also devoted time to go in-depth with special series dealing with organ donation and teen suicide. In December, she put the spotlight on sex trafficking in Waterloo Region. Recent honours include the 2014 Cambridge YWCA Women of Distinction award in the category of Communications and Public Relations.

Lisa is a proud supporter and volunteer with United Way and has served as a Campaign Chair in KW. She also serves as an emcee for a number of charity and women’s events around town including the annual Inspiring Women event and WOW WR ( formerly Women of Waterloo Region (WOW) awards. When the microphone is off, Lisa and her family spend time at the hockey rink and keep busy with numerous pets and home renovations.
