The foundation is proud to have provided free accommodations for over 3,400 military and veteran families to help them reconnect and reestablish healthy family relationships, especially following war and long deployments. All of the resorts in the Vacations for Vets inventory are four and five star rated condominiums or villas generously provided to IHOOT by owners of Wyndham, Worldmark, Shell, Holiday Inn and Lawrence Welk Vacation Clubs timeshares worldwide. Hilton Grand Vacations Clubs also participated in the early years of the program. Strambler retired and became IHOOT’s Chief Executive Officer when the Walter Reed Washington, DC campus closed and realigned at Bethesda, Maryland. Active duty and Veterans of any era with proof of honorable service are eligible to apply for Vacations for Vets online at www.ihoot.org. IHOOT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under IRS Code.
