In her career as a midwife Terra Rafael attended hundreds of home deliveries between 1981 and 2001, was a teacher of over one hundred and fifty midwifery students and apprenticed many in her practice. In 2001 she retired and certified as an ayurvedic practitioner through Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula, and became a certified practitioner of “Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy.” She founded holistic health practices “WiseWomanhood” in 2001 in Lafayette Colorado and “Roots of Wellness Ayurveda” in Boulder, Colorado. She currently serves on the Colorado Ayurvedic Medicine Association board and teaches at “Sacred Window for Maternal Child Health”. She has written for several related publications and “Ayurveda for the Childbearing Years” is her latest book. Terra has two grown up and married children and two grown stepsons living in California. She and her husband Victor live in Lafayette, Colorado with her stepson who is in middle school. Her hobbies include photography and poetry.
