Fred Leichter

Fred Leichter is responsible for design thinking and innovation programs at Fidelity Labs – Fidelity Investment’s innovation group, and is a lecturer at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (the d.school.) Previously, as a Fidelity sponsored Fellow at the d.school, Fred taught classes and worked on a significant project for Fidelity: understanding the needs of aging families and learning about the conversations that often do not happen within families about long term health and end-of-life planning. Fred has also served as Fidelity’s Chief Customer Experience Officer. Previously, as Senior Vice President of User Interface Design for Fidelity, he established design as a unique discipline and built a team of over 150 associates responsible for the information architecture, visual design, and usability testing for customer-facing interfaces, web, software and wireless. Fred served on the Leadership Committee for the Design Industry Group of Massachusetts (DIGMA).
