Lisa Cleary

Lisa Cleary

Lisa was born in Seoul, Korea, and was adopted by a Caucasian family when she was three months old. She has covered topics that include parental tips for raising a child of another race, as well as the everyday issues that an international adoptee may encounter. Above it all, her mission is to educate families and adoptees that adoption may not always need to be the most defining characteristic of a person. No matter the personal preferences regarding the mindset toward adoption, however, open and honest communication with loved ones and oneself is key. Lisa is a contributing writer to the TODAY Show and Women’s Health, and blogs for The Huffington Post. She was a former daily health columnist for NBC (DC affiliate). Her writing emphasizes optimal health, inclusive of finding and maintaining happiness through relationships with family members, friends, romantic interests and, most important, oneself. Lisa is currently working on her first novel and is ready for it to be finished.
