Bob Rizzo

Bob Rizzo is an award-winning artist & prominent figure in New York dance, musical theater, & dance education. He has taught professional dance classes for more than 30 years at prominent NYC dance studios, including Broadway Dance Center, STEPS on Broadway, Peridance, & abroad. He was on the faculty for New York University’s undergraduate Musical Theatre program & has taught at the Jazz Dance World Congress. Over his career, Bob has worked with thousands of students, many of whom have gone on to successful professional dance careers on Broadway, television & in film, most notably, Matthew Morrison of “GLEE” fame. As a director & choreographer his credits include more than 200 Musicals for the New York stage, national tours, summer stock & dinner theatre. His choreography has appeared on national television in commercials & popular daytime programs. He is recipient of the Artistic Achievement Award from the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters & a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Dance & Affiliated Arts. He has been featured on the cover of Dance Teacher Magazine, which hailed him as the “teacher’s teacher,” & is presently on the advisory board for Dance Spirit Magazine. Bob successfully juggles the roles of producer, director, choreographer, teacher, & entrepreneur. His Company, Riz-Biz Productions, is a leading producer of educational dance videos in the United States, with a catalog boasting more than 75 titles. Bob’s instructional DVDs & CDs are favorites of dance studios & schools across the U.S. & abroad, & have been featured in the national media, including Glamour, ELLE, In Touch, & OK magazines.
