Tara Drew
Tara Drew began dancing at age three at Ballet Mississippi, & continued her training at Ballet Magnificat School of the Arts. At fifteen, Tara was a semi-finalist in the 1994 USA International Ballet Competition. She received scholarships to ballet schools including Joffrey Ballet & Houston Ballet. As a young adult, she danced professionally with Ballet Magnificat, touring the US & Europe.Tara then moved to Atlanta, where she danced for the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. She had the opportunity to dance at the NBA All Star Game & the TNT Celebrity Game as well as choreograph for the team. She took classes at Atlanta Ballet & taught at Impact Dance of Atlanta. She performed in many projects including the independent film "Petunia", Mak Attack Fitness Fashion Show, & an IBM Industrial show. Tara has a passion for training students in Ballet, Contemporary & Jazz. She has trained students for the Youth American Grand Prix & had the honor of taking one of her students to the finals in NYC. One of her students was recently accepted to compete in the 2014 International Ballet Competition. Her students are scholarship winners at many competitions/conventions such as NYC Dance Alliance, Hall of Fame, & VIP. She has had students accepted to many summer programs as the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, & the Carreño Dance Festival. Her students have gone on to dance professionally for Miami City Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, Phoenix Ballet, & the Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. One of her students was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine, & others have modeled for Revolution Dancewear. Tara received top honors & placements at many competitions for choreography & won first place overall at nationals with "Angels". In 2011, Tara choreographed a piece titled " The Arrival" for Ballet Magnificat. This past year, she completed a full length ballet for the company titled "Stratagem", which will be toured across the country & overseas
