Ron Scott has more than 40 years of experience in activism as well as radio, television, and video production. President of Ron Scott Media Solutions, he is an Emmy Award-winning producer who has completed significant documentary projects on various topics related to current affairs, cultural icons, entertainment, and politics on the North American continent and the Caribbean. He serves as spokesperson for the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality, part of a national effort to end police brutality with members in 30 cities. Scott is a member of the Detroit Council of Elders and the National Lawyers Guild. He serves as Board member of the Boggs Center, a Detroit advocacy. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Silver Circle Award in 2008 from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Michigan Chapter; and the “Unsung Heroes” Award from the U.S. Congressional Black Caucus. Ron Scott co-hosts the long-running community and political affairs program, “For My People,” He is also a political blogger for The Detroit News.
