Ali Tiegs



After raising her family on a farm and ranch in Idaho, Ali Tiegs received her BA in Education in 1991 and taught elementary grades and English as a Second Language. She was awarded a teaching assistantship in 1997 from the University of Idaho, completed her Master’s in Education in 1998, and became the Fine Arts and Literature Grant Facilitator for a school in central Idaho. In 1999 she completed a second Master’s degree, Education Administrative Specialist, and went on to become a Junior Senior High School principal, a Gifted and Talented Curriculum Specialist, and a consultant for Dore Achievement Centers International. Ali came to Amarillo in 2004 to develop the education program emerging from the newly built Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts. She is the executive director of the program Window On a Wider World, a unique collaborative partnership of educators, arts, science and cultural organizations now serving 30 school districts in the Texas panhandle and growing.
