Peter LaFrance is an author and a journalist who has covered the malt beverage industry for over twenty five years. He is a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals, and is an accredited "Recognized" beer judge by the BJCP. His monthly news letter and other material can be found at www.beerbasics.com. Peter LaFrance has written about the brewing industry for over fifteen years. Credits include contributing editor for Restaurant Management and Top Shelf magazines. He has also written for Beverage Media, New Brewer, Beverage Dynamics, and All About Beer magazine. In September 1990 he began working for the Beverage Network/Beverage Media Publications as associate editor. In November 1992 he was appointed managing editor, a position he held until July 1993. "Beer Basics", his first book, was published by John Wiley & Sons in July1995. “Cooking & Eating with Beer”, published in May of 1997.
